Adam Bruene, DC, Cert. MDT, DNSP

Founder & Clinical Architect, NeuroActive App
Licensed Chiropractic Physician (Illinois)

Professional Bio

Chiropractic physician dual-credentialed in the McKenzie Method (MDT) and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), with over 15 years of clinical experience in spine-related disorders, movement-based rehabilitation, and sport performance integration.

Dr. Bruene has treated thousands of patients across a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions, including acute and chronic spine pain, disc-related presentations, movement coordination disorders, and pediatric musculoskeletal conditions informed by developmental kinesiology. His clinical work emphasizes precise assessment, symptom-response guided care, and the translation of complex biomechanical concepts into practical, self-directed strategies.

He is the creator of the NeuroActive App, a clinician-designed digital platform built to translate evidence-based clinical reasoning into guided, patient-facing education and exercise decision pathways. The app’s logic is grounded in McKenzie MDT and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization principles and reflects the same decision-making frameworks used in real-world clinical practice. The platform is intentionally designed for adult musculoskeletal care and long-term self-management.

Dr. Bruene has provided care and consultation within professional sports organizations including Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League, international rugby, and Major League Soccer, and has served as an on-call covering chiropractic physician at elite sporting events. He has also lectured nationally and internationally on movement-based rehabilitation and developmental stabilization principles.

Recognized for clinical reasoning, biomechanical assessment, and the integration of evidence-based rehabilitation models across the lifespan, Dr. Bruene’s work reflects a career-long focus on helping patients understand their bodies, regain control of symptoms, and build durable movement capacity.

Clinical Philosophy

Dr. Bruene’s clinical approach is grounded in the belief that effective musculoskeletal care begins with understanding how symptoms behave, not simply where they are felt. His work emphasizes identifying meaningful movement patterns, observing symptom response to mechanical testing, and guiding patients toward strategies that restore control rather than dependency.

Across both in-person care and digital platforms, his focus is on translating complex clinical reasoning into clear, actionable guidance. Treatment and education are designed to empower individuals to recognize relevant signals from their bodies, make informed decisions, and build resilience through efficient movement and load tolerance over time.

The NeuroActive App reflects this philosophy by prioritizing decision-making frameworks over generic exercise prescriptions, helping users engage with their recovery process in a structured, thoughtful way.

Organizational & Corporate Applications

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Bruene has designed and delivered movement education and posture-focused training programs for corporate environments, including large financial institutions and professional organizations. His work in these settings has focused on reducing repetitive strain, improving movement literacy, and providing employees with practical strategies they can apply independently throughout the workday.

The NeuroActive App extends this approach by offering a scalable platform for organizations seeking evidence-based musculoskeletal education, guided movement strategies, and self-management tools for adult populations. Programs can be adapted for workplace settings, distributed teams, and employee wellness initiatives without requiring ongoing in-person care.
